A cure for the Maui blues - It's Dungeness season!

This is the only thing that made me feel better about coming home to cold rainy SF = It's Dungeness crab season! And boy what a season it's going to be - last year wasn't that great but this year it's a bounty! It's such a bounty that yesterday Richard found cooked, cleaned and cracked fresh crab for $2.99 a pound!!! (Safeway) We had one last week that we just ate cold with cocktail sauce but I decided to try Alice Water's recipe last night. OMG - this was the best ever!!! Really easy too. Once cooked I poured the buttery, garlicy, paprika spiced sauce into a little bowl and dipped some bread in.... ahhhh, food orgasm!

Baked Crab serves 2 greedy crab lovers

2 whole cooked, cleaned and cracked Dungeness crabs
2 cloves garlic
1 and 1/2 teaspoons sweet paprika
1/8 teaspoon cayenne
juice of 1 lemon
3 tablespoons olive oil
6 tablespoons melted butter

Mince the garlic and then add the rest of the ingredients to make the sauce. On a large baking sheet spread out the crab and drizzle over the sauce and bake at 425 degrees for 12 min. Serve with the sauce on the side with lots of napkins! Messy but worth it!
